BHDA Support Group Meetings

A short program is held at the beginning of all support group meetings. At the end of every meeting is an opportunity for families and people with diabetes to discuss their concerns and exchange recipes. Diabetes literature, recipes and door prize drawings are provided at every meeting. There is no membership fee. BHDA is staffed entirely by volunteers.

No meetings are held in December, February, April, June, July or August.

Confidentiality
Members must be assured that whatever they say or hear in the support group meeting will be held in confidence by all who attend.

Group meetings are not a substitute for doctor visits
Members must understand that support group meetings are not a substitute for regular medical care from your health care team. Members should realize that there are many ways to treat diabetes and that information they get from the support group should be reviewed by their health care team before any changes are made in their established treatment plan.
